Nim's Fruit Crisps

We love new products!

Especially ones that are unusual and fairly unknown.

However, Nim's Fruit Crisps are well known and have now won a Free From Food Award. Understandably this made me want to try them even more. Here's what I thought and what happened when I took them to a local playgroup full of free from and non free from people.

The packaging, artwork and design of these crisps is very exciting. Am I the only one to look at a packaging design before tucking into a product? (I blame it on my business and marketing interests). The packaging in my mind leads to even higher expectation of the product within. This is tricky for a company because you want the product to be noticed and desired but you don't want to set anyone up for a fall!

I tried several flavours Apple, Pineapple and Kiwi and Apple and Strawberry. There are several more available. My first thoughts were yummy these are really sweet and flavoursome. Secondly, they would be great eaten on their own or added to breakfasts or dairy free yoghurt. The packaging does mean they are fab for taking out in your bag or lunch box. There aren't many snacks on the market that satisfy a sweet craving quite so healthily. At roughly 75 calories per pack and counting as one of your 5 a day Nims Fruit Crisps are a winner. And of course they are naturally dairy free, lactose free, gluten free and suitable for vegetarians, vegans, coeliacs and just about anyone!

Comments from Mums and Childminders at playgroup (and the odd comment from hubby!):

Oh I thought they would be more like apple flavoured potato crisps!
Are they really crisps? Should they be called something else?
Very tasty, sweet and moreish
Would be great for expanding childrens first tastes as they have a sharpness with the sweetness
I would eat them and give them to my children
Why would you not just have an apple?
Not sure about some of the skin and core being included
Fantastic alternative to other less healthy snacks
They melt in your mouth and then you taste the flavour
Great to keep in the cupboard

What builds as a greater realisation is that these fruit crisps were created by a mum seeking a healthier snack free from all the trappings of our modern society. Nim's Fruit Crisps bring caring health, nutrition and convenience to a wider market.
