It's the time of year for seasonal fruit and warming food. We delighted in combining both to make these mouth watering fruity, sugary squares.
4oz plain glutenfree flour (Dove's Farm)
4oz dairyfree spread (Pure Sunflower)
4oz caster sugar
6oz glutenfree oats
2oz ground almond
8oz caster sugar
2oz dairyfree spread (Pure Sunflower)
3 tbsps coconut milk (we used Kara bu should work equally well with most alternatives)
1 large eating apple
Sift the flour into a bowl and rub in the dairy free spread taking care not to over rub it and make it greasy.
Stir in the sugar, ground almond and oats.
In a small pan on a medium heat melt the dairy free spread, sugar and alternative to dairy milk stirring gently until they blend together.
Once blended increase the heat until the mixture boils for approx 2mins (extremely hot).
Set aside until cool.
Core peel and chop the apple into small cubes.
Mix together with the crumble mix and caramel until thoroughly coated.
Press into a baking paper lined, small loaf tin.
Bake at 190C for approx 10-15 mins
Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
